Cozy Cottage & Studio in the Vermont Woods

Charming one bedroom cottage in Guilford in the lovely Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. With all the comforts of a country retreat, the cottage is perfect for couples, and can accommodate up to three adults.

The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful setting and offers a lived-in rustic feel. Built by local carpenters and artisans, it was constructed from reclaimed materials, including wood trim and antique beams. There are wide plank pine floors in the old style of building, and hand crafted custom cabinets and a decorative ceiling fan add to its simple charm.

The cottage features plants, original artworks, and plenty of books and fun board games. The dining area holds a table to seat four and a comfortable reading nook with vintage recliner. The kitchen offers a new gas range, oven, toaster, small microwave, and coffee maker and is fully equipped with dishes, cutlery, and cooking pots to use during your stay. Pure artesian well water runs from the tap and is full of healthy minerals. Tea, coffee, condiments, and some yummy Vermont treats are provided.

The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and looks out into a private wooded yard. The upstairs sleep-in loft holds a full-sized futon floor mattress (without frame). The loft has a view of the mountains, and a modern recliner with art books and archival magazines to enjoy. There is one bathroom with full bath and shower.

A private, quiet studio apartment on the property is also for rent. Formerly a musician’s studio, it overlooks an open field with spectacular mountain views. Well insulated for sound and comfort, the studio offers privacy, peace and quiet, and a chance to relax and unwind. Functional and decoratively furnished, the details are simple and a bit homespun. Original artworks complete the decor. The space includes a modern kitchen and bath (shower only, no tub). The carpeted living space has air conditioning in summer. The main space holds a queen bed with new mattress and luxury topper and a small couch which folds out to a small single bed. The studio has a private entrance through the indoor garage.
