William Langlie-Miletich, bassist

Everyone, for seven weeks, makes a tacit agreement to all be in over our heads. When confronting these often seemingly impenetrable masterworks all summer, no old patterns are relied upon and no underlying assumptions go unquestioned. The entire festival boldly jumps head first into every musical possibility.

In the decades to come, the most important quality any musician can possess is a collaborative spirit. The ability to work with artists in one’s own medium/genre, and with those from different artistic fields, will be an essential skill for connecting this music to a wider range of diverse audiences.
