Shai Wosner, pianist

Marlboro always strikes me as more of a mindset than a music festival. You put away in storage some of the concerns of daily life as you exit the highway and make room for some more timelessness as you go up the hill—timelessness in the repertoire, in the pace of things, in the way musicians from very different generations are looking for the same thing—getting to the essence of their artform.
